What is a viral video? - A viral video is a video that rapidly spreads across the net. Capturing many views and engraving people’s minds.
What aspects of a video make it go viral? - I think there are many different aspects that make a video become viral. I believe that the video must capture one’s attention and entertain them. Most of the videos that I found to be viral are funny and have something “catchy” about them.
What has contributed to the rise in viral videos? - I think that technology itself has the most contribution to the rise in viral videos. Now just about everyone can capture/ film something and make it become viral. Recording is at everyone’s fingertips, whether it is recording from a cellphone, webcam, video camera, camera, etc. I think that now that it has become more accessible to people they have used it to their advantage and share it with others.
How has viral video given regular people their 15 minutes of fame? - I think that viral videos definitely give people their 15 (or more) minutes of fame. Its not called Viral Video for nothing. It goes around like a virus. Now celebrities and talk show hosts share different videos thus making it become viral. So the people from the video do get their “15 minutes of fame.”
